It was given to “Grandpa” Victor Schkolne by his mother Chana Sheva ‘nee Weingart in their Shtetl Chaviadan (Kverdana) presumably packed with food and clothes, when he left Lithuania for South Africa never to see his parents and sister again.

Grandpa’s daughter Pauline gave the pot to me, Raymond. May it continue to be passed through the generations as a symbol of the connections between the generations and the great journeys we each take.
