Number 49: After arriving in Israel on Aliyah in February 1985, Sheryl and I went travelling to Europe. Arriving back on Tuval in approximately June 1985 – Sheryl pregnant with Yair, our “lift” finally arrived after some tough bureaucratic interactions with Israeli Customs officials over a piano that we had agreed to bring in for a friend, bureaucracy that included a trip to the port Ashdod in the South, to deal with the issue.

We were living at the time in a “Kubiyah” – which directly translated means “Cube”: One room and small “bathroom”  – Shower, basin and toilet. The photographs reflect Sheryl and I unpacking our “things” and standing outside our Kubiyah.
