Experiencing Istanbul

Number 124: We had passed through Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport often – and thought: maybe its time to explore Istanbul itself!  So in July 2009 – we did!!

Politically hostile Turkey, especially when viewed through today’s 2021 lens, does not align with our experience on the ground: Energetic, pulsating, ancient, rich Jewish history, varied, beautiful, sailing the Bosphorous, sense of safety, warm hospitality, mouth-watering foods were all aspects of the experience best captured in the photographs!

The process of purchasing – seduced by warmth and good food!
At first we weren’t looking seriously for carpets. Then we purchased two & a couple of small ones. Grown on us over the years! Not at all disappointed.

And may this also be Turkey’s future reality!!
