Number 45: Sasch and Cal wanted their wedding to be different and it really was!

They felt that Onrus (where the Volks family have had a family home for over 50 years) and Hermanus were close to their heart and that is where they wanted to get married. Their chuppah was conducted by Rabbi Tsili Reisenberger on the rocks at Hermanus next to Bientang’s Cave, with the reception at Bientang’s Cave. The many steps down to the venue were not easy for  the elderly guests but it certainly was a spectacular day and a very different wedding.  Cal also felt she did not want to wear a white wedding  dress and so she had Maya and Marielle (her flower girls) wear white and she wore a deep plum-coloured dress.

Maya and Yair were at Habonim Machaneh and we had to get special permission for them to leave the Machaneh at Onrus to participate in the wedding. After the wedding we drove them back to the Machaneh site.
